Summary: | The following degree project aims to develop a multimedia system that encourages learning with a deep focus on the students of the subject Multimedia Systems Architecture (ASM). This is because some topics seen in class by students are partially forgotten after a relatively short period of time. The methodology used during this project was User Centered Design (DCU), where an analysis of the target audience was started, a user profile was established that would define important aspects in the development of the system, taking as relevant data, hobbies, motivations and the socio-economic stratum of the users; the previous thing to define the requirements of the project. Subsequently, the system was designed and implemented, from which emerged models that would pass through a validation with users. As a result, a multimedia system composed of four components was obtained, which would respectively be: a platform, a web application, a mobile application and tangible objects / interfaces; system that in order to verify the fulfillment of its purpose, was defined to the teaching of the topic "Utilitarian Applications" of the ASM subject. Three tests were carried out to validate the functionality of the system, the first with 15 students, the second with 15 students and the third with 6 students, where a part of the students would learn the subject of "Utilitarian Applications" using the system, while the others would use a reading. In order to compare their results, a sequence of evaluations was conducted to determine the retention and performance of the subject over time by the students. These tests yielded data that allowed to corroborate that the system fulfills its purpose, since the students that used it demonstrate a better performance and retentive knowledge of the topic "Utilitarian Applications" in front of the students who did not use the system |
