Summary: | Taking into account the dialogues of Havana as an important approach to the achievement of peace for Colombia, the importance of the news, the implications that these could have on public opinion in the country and the role of the media in the report of the news, this investigation was carried out with the purpose of describing the influence of Caracol and RCN in the formation of the public opinion regarding the dialogues of peace A descriptive, analytical and critical methodology was used, where the information issued by each communicative medium was taken and a comparative analysis was made, trying to identify the presentation of the news, the speech used, the analysis of the same, the context, etc. ., to determine the objectivity of the media in the information provided to the public opinion. Addressing theorists like Kovach and Ronsentiel, Monzón, Santana, Ferreira, Lippman and Alvarez, among others, a comparative analysis could be made about the news presented by RCN and Caracol TV around the dialogues in Havana, determining that there was no serious analysis, where it is taken into account the context of the news, where the information provided to the viewers about the dialogues in Havana, was very incomplete, undeveloped, without analysis of the context, a very shallow presentation was made, where they limited themselves to reading the decisions that were reached without any in-depth explanation of the matter, in both newscasts they used qualifiers where the preference of the journalists was allowed to be seen, by taking sides in favor of one or another character, by what could be concluded that the information given by these means did not allow the audience to form an opinion adjusted to the reality of the facts. |
