Summary: | The “Red de Salud del Centro E.S.E” aims to provide patients comprehensive health care with safety and quality y to reach it has set as goals certification, accreditation and recognition through national awards for its excellent provision of services Health. For this reason, by 2018, it was the first low complexity public network in southwestern Colombia to receive the accreditation. However, the National Food and Drug Surveillance Institute (INVIMA), in its first audits, outlined improvement opportunities according to the biomedical technology management standards of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, through the development of new processes to carry obsolescence, acquisition, pre-installation and installation for the biomedical equipment in the institution. To accomplish this goal, a methodology was designed that goes from the identification of the need of acquisition of biomedical technology, either by clinical requirement or by analysis of obsolescence, followed by the evaluation of at least three suppliers invited to be quoted for the selection of the equipment, considering equipment technical requirements, costs, pre-installation criteria, installation, among others. Once the provider is chosen, the equipment to be acquired will be subject to a prioritization process that evaluates clinical, technical and economic criteria that will allow it to be included in the annual purchasing budget. Furthermore, the Network acquired an automated format to determine the state of obsolescence of the biomedical equipment, however, the personnel was not trained for the management of this software, due so; the instructive for it was designed. It's allows the personnel of the institution to know how to use the software and apply possible improvements. All the above aims to improve the processes of acquisition, pre installation, installation and obsolescence of biomedical equipment. The protocols allow to guarantee the correct functioning of the biomedical equipment with quality and safety features at the effective costs necessary to maintain the accreditation granted |
