Description
Summary:The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that make up the 2030 Agenda, unlike the previous MDGs (Millennium Development Goals), not only give equal importance to the economic, social and environmental dimensions but go further by declaring their purpose of "leaving no one behind" by putting the equality and dignity of people at the center of the discussion and inviting us to change our way of development for one that is more responsible with the environment. This is especially important for Colombia, given the big differences between the development of its regions and the natural wealth of its territory. The proximity of agents of change coming from universities in geographic spaces where problems abound and proliferate from region to region is the opportunity for sustainable solutions adjusted to the conditions of the territory to emerge. This is why Valle del Cauca is committed to the thematic areas of Biodiversity, Agriculture and Agribusiness, Services and Logistics, Health, Energy, Tourism and Education within the Departmental Development Plan 2016-2019, framed within the SDGs 2030 (Departmental Development Plan of Valle del Cauca, 2016).
