Summary:This research aims his gaze to newscasts deprived of Colombia and their news that surprise, impact and atract the attention for the repetitive content pointing to cases of violence, war, calamity, catastrophe, among others, which constitute the news broadcasting . This informative trend, delivere a scenario where generated emotions about uncertainty, fear and sometimes hopelessness in viewers, who, finally, from this informative ritual, their to customary to receive any information without question about the kind of content that is consuming. The research is based on mainly theoretical postulates such as those proposed by the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu and the academic Vicente Romano, about the media violence; Vargas Llosa and his look at culture and contemporary society; Teun Van Dijk is also involved with his gaze set on questioning and determining, the dynamics of today´s society. Scholars from fields other than communication and journalism appear, such as Guillermo Fouce, Jorge Tizón, psychologists and specialists in analyzing human behavior, the sociologist and psycologist Michel Foucault, among other thinkers that allowed to better understand the relationship between human being, society and the mass media. This Investigative process, take like reference two of the privated news most seen in Colombia: Noticias Caracol y Noticiero RCN, which are the two entity private and national of news, more consumed in the Colombian territory, according to his national rating. The research path is carried out, from a qualitative approach, with the use of techniques specific to this field such as participant observation, focus groups and surveys of different social groups. It is important to point out, that the research question, began early and naturally, as a student in the first semesters and after, several works were carried out in this direction that contributed to the structuring of the project. In addition, the proposal, also, was nourished from conversations, individual and collective questions to differents audiences and people, about the mass media and their impact on human existence and society. The results obtained from the work validate the hypothesis about the television news as participants in sowing and generating the culture of fear that Colombian society currently suffers. Also, were found the exaggerated uses of the time that can monopolize one or two news items in the whole broadcast, 15 minutes can be filled with a "trancon" or a transport stoppage, among other repetitive news items; as well as recognizing that, although television continues to be an influential medium, the adults are, who mostly consume television news items, while other groups such as 14 youth, use other media such as the Internet, and have even lost their credibility in journalism. In addition, the hypothesis is reaffirmed with them, recognizing that consumer audiences appropriate fear and uncertainty after watching news. Finally, it is possible to see that the fear that is silently spread in the television news is a forceful element that the power has known how to use, so that fear is manipulated in a world driven by the market, which also prevails in the decisions and valuations of contemporary society. Thus, here is the questioning of the Media, journalism and its relationship with Power and the Human Being
