Summary:The following work of degree exposes the socioeconomic and business analysis of the tourism sector in the municipality of Jamundí (Valle del Cauca), in the first instance in the work raises the research problem focusing on the importance of knowing what is the current situation of the sector of the Municipality, a compilation of all the theories, concepts and norms that surround the tourism sector is made, later the methodology and type of research used in the work is explained, as well as the sources and techniques for the collection of information and the type of sample of the population used in the work. Based on the information collected, the analysis of the information is made, making a diagnosis of the current state of the companies in the tourism sector of Jamundi, characterizing tourism businesses, community organizations, commercial establishments and hotels in the municipality. In addition, the analysis of the macro and micro environment of the tourist sector of Jamundi is carried out, in the macro environment the distribution of the income of the individuals and the characterization of the jobs in the rural and urban area is analyzed, in the micro-environment they are exposed generalities of the municipality, a descriptive analysis of the urban and rural areas is elaborated and likewise the actors of the tourist ecosystem of the municipality are shown. Finally, based on the results found in the analysis of the information, a SWOT matrix is ​​made and the conclusions on the current state of the tourism sector of the municipality are presented, as well as recommendations to improve it.
