Política y guía de compras sostenibles para la Universidad Autónoma de Occidente

The Universidad Autónoma de Occidente-Cali has stood out for its Sustainable Campus Program and for its environmental management system. Following these premises, the objective of this work is to generate tools for a sustainable purchasing process within the environmental framework of Universidad Autónoma de Occidente-Cali and start a new environmentally friendly institutional supply purchasing process. This is a research work in which quantitative, qualitative and technical methods were used, such as the review of specialized literature, the analysis of official documents of the university regarding the purchasing process. Also, the design and carry out of interviews with the responsible employees for making purchases and to the institution external suppliers were done. In addition, the analysis of the characteristics of the products handled in inventory by the university was done. As a result of this research, the processes of sustainable purchasing in other international universities are described, the current situation of the university is analysed in relation to this topic and a new Sustainable Purchasing Policy and a Guide is presented for the use in Universidad Autónoma de Occidente-Cali
