Description
Summary:Higher Education Institutions are involved to the effects and impacts of globalization and internationalisation, since they have the responsibility to generate action plans so that the human capital successfully responds to the current demands of the labour market. One of the areas of interest of internationalisation for the HEI, is the joint research and collaborative work with the intention of applying results to improve and increase creativity, innovation and productivity, as well as providing to students, professors and managers a better global vision. Precisely, some of the most important aspects found, are: the academic or research missions, in which more and more resources are directed. The Internationalitation in higher education institutions is according to their objectives and dimensions in order of priority, generating a high number of strategies and activities, but in some cases actions are not taken into account, as strategic and can have several purposes, advantages and risks. Therefore, through this communication and by reviewing literature and own and others experiences, I present a general outline of the importance and internationalization processes that are still under development and are expected to continue to evolve in the HEI in Colombia, noting that some processes can be a good investment to support and strengthen existing programs in HEI. This is how this information can serve as a starting point or input for decision-making on strategic objectives and in generating new strategies that may be appropriate for strengthening institutional partnerships (academic), resource management and the development of joint research projects and other actions
