Summary: | Biomass production and carbon fixation are two important factors to consider when defining the state of an urban or rural marine ecosystem. The present investigation was carried out in the campus of the Autonoma de Occidente University in Cali Colombia, with the purpose of determining and comparing the carbon fixation associated to aerial biomass, of roots in woody and monocotyledonous arboreal species. All the information was provided by CVC-DAGMA-UAO from the arboreal census of Cali where the data of each individual was extracted: DBH, density, height, classification by species and family that allowed applying the allometric equation, proposed by (Brown et al., 1989), for the calculation of aerial biomass and root biomass, suggested by (Sierra, Carlos Alberto; del Valle, Jorge Ignacio; Orrego, Sergio Alonso. 2003) |
