Description
Summary:The purpose of this work is the rescue of the sonata "on Colombian issues" by composer Luis Antonio Escobar. The score, composed in 1948 to be presented to the Music of Colombia Fabricato contest of that year, rests in the heritage hall of the Luis Echavarría Villegas Library cultural center of the EAFIT University in Medellin-Colombia. The work aims to determine the musical elements of the work and enhance its artistic content. Through the description and analysis of the score, whose transcription is taken here as the primary source, the musical language, artistic, stylistic tendencies and their creative development are identified. Encrypted in their notes, there are both the original national influences of the composer, as well as the new ones, acquired at that time by his newly initiated higher music studio in the United States. The work highlights some musical elements inherent in the composer.
