Summary:This article addresses some questions about the higher education of music educators in Colombia, after 20 years of having been enacted law 115 of 1994 (general education law). It raises reflections from the perspective of university teaching practice in Bachelor of Music training programs, as well as the author's experience of having visited, as an academic couple, some music education programs and shows, at the same time, results Partial project "Characterization of training in music history that contributes to quality standards for the training of musicians", developed by the Research Group in Music and Musical Training and the Research Group on Quality and Productivity of Organizations, sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research of the Universidad del Valle between 2012 and 2014.
