It shows the operation principles, the topologies of resonant inverter most used (serial, parallel, hybrid, quasi-resonant, and single-switch), the switching strategies, the control strategies using frequency modulation, width modulation, and pulse density, and the switching methodologies (soft and hard). Finally, it is done a brief analysis on the areas where further research is still needed such as multiple-outputs induction heating systems, single switch inverter topologies, and quasiresonant inverters.Este trabajo presenta una revisión técnica sobre el desarrollo de los sistemas domésticos de calentamiento por inducción. Inicialmente, este documento presenta conceptos básicos y principios generales de calentamiento por inducción y se centra en las características particulares de los electrodomésticos y específicamente en la electrónica de potencia. Muestra los principios de funcionamiento, las topologías del inversor resonante más utilizado (serial, paralelo, híbrido, cuasi-resonante y de un solo interruptor), las estrategias de conmutación, las estrategias de control que utilizan modulación de frecuencia, modulación de ancho y densidad de pulso, y metodologías de conmutación (blanda y dura).
