Summary:The figure of Manuel María Párraga Paredes remains surrounded by mystery despite its importance for national piano literature, this work aims to highlight the quality of the work of said composer and his contribution to the Colombian piano repertoire of the nineteenth century. From the analysis of the piano writing, the form, the harmony and other particularities of the work of Párraga, and making an approach to the biography and the socio-political context of the author in the Neogranadine era, this critical and revised edition of ( four) of his piano works, he seeks to arouse the interest of new generations of musicians in the pianistic work of Párraga Paredes.
