Although the political and sociocultural impact that the new hydroelectric power stations have had since the ending of twentieth century, the one that need to be told is the socioelectrical history, specially the Guatapé Peñol project, whith the final sinking of two towns and a large amount of land useful for peasants. A glimpse to this project, that regains the voice of those towns is the purpose of this paper.La historia de Antioquia, y en particular la económica, ha sido contada como un todo e incluso en algunas de sus dimensiones específicas: minera, industrial, comercial. Dado el relevante impacto político y sociocultural que la construcción de hidroeléctricas ha tenido desde finales del siglo XIX, una historia que quizás nos debemos es la socioeléctrica, uno de cuyos capítulos fue el proyecto Guatapé Peñol caracterizado, por el hundimiento de dos pueblos y tierras aptas para el cultivo.
