The initial form of this article was an interview with the author by Professor Tomás Díaz Villegas to be published in the magazine A misfortune.Presentamos aquí una somera revisión crítica del mundo académico universitario actual de la teoría y el análisis musical en cuanto a su estudio, enseñanza, producción de conocimiento, aspectos históricos y otros relativos a la cooperación con otras ciencias; la lexicografía musical especializada y demás posibles objetos de estudio pertinentes al ancho campo de nuestra disciplina. El autor ha sido docente, inves-tigador, director orquestal y coral, compositor y tratadista de la teoría y el análisis musical.
