However, many elements of this analysis also contribute to the literature on foreign direct investment in the agricultural sector as potential tools for poverty alleviation in rural areas in emerging markets. The work New Zealand has performed thus far in Colombia showcase the ideal research and development methodology required to estimate such outcomes. The two primary benefits to poverty alleviation from improving the dairy productivity are increases in employment and infrastructure.Este reporte proporciona una discusión y recomendaciones sobre la participación de la industria láctea de Nueva Zelanda en Colombia con el objetivo de reducir la pobreza. El tema es de más relevancia en la perspectiva de la negociación actual entre la Alianza del Pacífico y Nueva Zelanda, en particular, debido a las preocupaciones planteadas por la industria láctea en Colombia. Sin embargo, muchos elementos de este análisis contribuyen a la literatura sobre inversiones extranjeras directas en el sector agropecuario como herramientas potenciales para la mitigación de la pobreza en áreas rurales en mercados emergentes. El trabajo que Nueva Zelanda ha llevado a cabo hasta ahora en Colombia demuestra la metodología ideal de investigación y desarrollo, los cuales son requeridos para estimar tales resultados.
