Description
Summary:This article proposes high performance liquid chromatography - High Performance Liquid Chromatography - as an alternative to track weak acid titrations with strong bases. Taking advantage of the benefits of this powerful instrumental technique you can visualize in real time all the substances involved in the process, quantify with extraordinary precision the variation of its concentration and generate new graphs that allow analyzing the progress of the neutralization process from different perspectives. The case of the titration of acetic acid as a weak monoprotic acid with a strong base, sodium hydroxide, is studied, applying a specific chromatographic method for organic acids.
