Description
Summary:In this article I analyse some cardinal aspects of the development and evolution of the musicalisation of poetic texts in Chile and examine in depth their relationship with the literary canon. The analysis is based on three relevant productions in the Chilean music-poetry scene: the musicalisation of the poem Alturas de Macchu Picchu by Pablo Neruda performed by Los Jaivas (1981), the album Desiertos de amor (2011) by Raúl Zurita with the group González y Los Asistentes, and the musicalization of poems by Elicura Chihuailaf that the group Kalfu performs in their album Trawvn = ReUnión (2017). Overall, the study roposes that poetry musicalisations constitute a contribution to literary studies, as they allow for a broadening of the perspectives of analysis beyond the textual, which favors a deeper understanding of the particularities of poetic production.
