One of the main aspects that has influenced its slow development is the inequity, which is partly due to the caste system, a social structure predominantly for more than 3,500 years in the subcontinent.La India es un país donde diariamente se convive con disparidades y contradicciones. En sus 28 estados y siete territorios, alberga una multitud de etnias de diversas culturas, lenguas y religiones. India se destaca por su rápido crecimiento económico, el cual ha sido, inclusive, mayor que el de algunos países del Asia Pacífico; sin embargo, en términos de indicadores sociales, aún le quedan obstáculos por superar.
