Es allí donde estas circunstancias, en ocasiones con posiciones de contrariedad y particularmente en el sector automotriz generan incrementos en las operaciones de mantenimiento de vehículos y reduciendo los márgenes operativos para las empresas de transporte y en general para el sector productivo. Renting Colombia, una empresa dedicada al arrendamiento operativo de vehículos (tanto comerciales como de uso particular) y con una flota de más de 45.000 vehículos operativos y creciendo, se ve cada vez más afectada por la disponibilidad y constante incremento en costo de los insumos y repuestos requeridos para el mantenimiento adecuado de sus vehículos y por ende la afectación de sus ingresos operativos. Es por esto que surge la necesidad de realizar una reducción de gastos de mantenimiento, partiendo principalmente por los costos de insumos y repuestos importados, los cuales se afectan por la tasa cambiaria y algunas otras variables como costos de commodities. Este proyecto busca desarrollar un modelo financiero que ayude a tomar decisiones desde una óptica financiera para optimizar el gasto mediante una integración de los flujos de información de costos de insumos automotrices, rotación de inventarios (vehículos y repuestos) y variables económicas, aplicando pronósticos y simulaciones de costos futuros (según requerimientos operativos de mantenimiento).ABSTRACT: The supply of spare parts and inputs in the Colombian automotive sector has been gaining increasing relevance due to factors that have been emerging over the past decade, such as: the migration (exit from the country) of vehicle assembly plants to other countries in the region (Mexico and Brazil), an increase in the variety and commercialization of automotive brands in the Colombian vehicle fleet (opening up to Asian brands), the implementation of new technologies (hybrid and electric vehicles), the devaluation of the Colombian Peso against the US Dollar, and growth in domestic demand for cargo (commercial) and passenger (family) transport vehicles generated after the Covid-19 pandemic and national economic reactivation. It is in this context that these circumstances, sometimes with contradictory positions and particularly in the automotive sector, generate increases in vehicle maintenance operations and reduce operating margins for transportation companies and the productive sector in general. Renting Colombia, a company dedicated to the operational leasing of vehicles (both commercial and for personal use) with a fleet of over 45,000 operational vehicles and growing, is increasingly affected by the availability and constant increase in the cost of inputs and spare parts required for the proper maintenance of its vehicles, and consequently the impact on its operating income. It is for this reason that the need arises to reduce maintenance costs, starting primarily with the costs of imported inputs and spare parts, which are affected by the exchange rate and other variables such as commodity costs.
