Dentro de los sectores de la ciudad de Medellín, la comuna 14, El poblado presenta la más baja utilización en lo que compete a modos de transporte público, teniendo un 10% en viajes en sistemas masivos de transporte,16% en sistemas integrados como el Metro y un 0% en medios como Metroplús, bicicleta y tranvía. Debido a las problemáticas mencionadas la administración local en conjunto con el sistema Metro, lanzaron un proyecto que contempla la construcción de un corredor denominado Transversal – Avenida El Poblado para incrementar la participación y conectividad en esta zona de la ciudad. Teniendo que dicho corredor está en etapa de caracterización, se planteó analizar una tramo en la comuna 14, El Poblado entre el parque de El Poblado y el Centro Comercial Vizcaya con la finalidad de garantizar el acceso y uso del sistema de transporte público masivo cuando se implemente. La metodología utilizada para el análisis se denomina Desarrollo Orientado al Transporte (DOT) en donde se definen 8 principios que dan una serie de pautas que se debe tener en una ciudad para acceder y utilizar de manera efectiva el transporte público masivo. En la zona establecida para el estudio se tuvieron en cuenta solo 4 de los 8 principios, Caminar, Pedalear, Conectar y Transportar ya que tienen contemplados indicadores que permiten la estructuración de estrategias a corto plazo y son adaptables en alcances pequeños a diferencia de los otros principios. Después de realizar el diagnostico el principio que obtuvo la calificación más baja fue Pedalear, debido a esto se estructuró una alternativa basada en la implementación de una ciclo – infraestructura siguiendo los parámetros del Plan de Movilidad de la Bicicleta (PMB) para la zona estudiada. Luego del diseño y recomendaciones para implementar la estrategia se logró aumentar la calificación del principio Pedalear a un 40%, concluyendo que en la zona es difícil la adaptación a un entorno ciclista y por ende a una accesibilidad al transporte público masivo por este medio, dejando detalladamente las condiciones y requerimientos para tener en cuenta por parte del Metroplús a la hora de implementarse el corredor Transversal – Av el poblado.ABSTRACT: The city of Medellín has presented a population growth with an average rate of 1.6%, which has an impact on the demand for trips mostly in private means of transport, being evidenced in the growth of the automotive fleet by 65% and low use. of public transport.
