Esto ha hecho que disminuya significativamente la competitividad de la actividad ganadera, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Esto hace que, frente a un mundo altamente globalizado en el cual la realidad actual es la constate negociación de tratados de libre comercio, la ganadería colombiana pierda terreno frente a potenciales competidores en el mercado internacional. Teniendo en cuanta además que la actividad ganadera se ve afectada por las condiciones sociales del entorno rural colombiano, disminuyen la mano de obra y encareciendo los costos de producción. Está además la problemática ambiental, los impactos de la ganadería sobre los diferentes recursos son amplios y no se tiene en el país una cultura sobre la importancia de la sostenibilidad, esto a su vez hace que la actividad sea poco competitiva. La falta de competitividad incide de diversas formas en el funcionamiento de la cadena productiva de la ganadería, especialmente en lo que respecta a la integración, impidiendo en muchos casos que la cadena funcione de manera adecuada. Ante esta problemática, es necesario establecer nuevas formas de hacer las cosas, crear una nueva cultura y reorganizar las funciones al interior de la cadena. Para ello, se propone una nueva estructura administrativa que permita consolidar empresarialmente la actividad ganadera. Dicha propuesta esta contenida en la presente investigación y se ha denominado “Estructuración de un Modelo Empresarial Sostenible para la Ganadería Bovina”. Este modelo pretende definir una estructura empresarial basada en un ciclo PHVA, que a través de las diferentes fases – planeación, ejecución, verificación y acción correctiva – busca definir un sistema de mejoramiento continuo. La necesidad primordial del sector ganadero en Colombia es logar un proceso de empresarización del campo, que garantice la sostenibilidad del negocio en el tiempo permitiendo a su vez, lograr mejores niveles de competitividad.ABSTRACT: The cattle ranch in Colombia has been characterized being typically a familiar business, governed by short-term interests and an informal handling. This has significantly diminished the competitiveness of the cattle activity, as much at national level as international. This has caused that, in front of a highly globalized world in which the present reality is it ruled by the negotiation of Free Trade Agreements, the Colombian cattle ranch is destined to loose ground against potential competitors in the international market. In addition that the cattle activity is affected by the social conditions of the Colombian rural surroundings, they diminish the manual labor and increase production costs. Even more the environmental problem for this activity, the impacts of the cattle ranch on the different resources are ample and there is not a culture in the country about the importance of the sustainability, this causes as well that the cattle ranch activity is even less competitive. The lack of competitiveness affects in diverse forms the operation of the productive chain of the cattle ranch, specially with regard to integration, preventing in many cases that the chain functions in a suitable way. Taking this problematic into account, it is necessary to establish new forms to do things, to create a new culture and to reorganize the way the productive chain functions. A new administrative structure sets out as a solution; it allows the consolidation of an enterprised cattle activity. This proposal contains an investigation denominated "Structuring of a Sustainable Enterprise Model for the Bovine Cattle ranch". This model tries to define an enterprise structure based on a PHVA cycle, that through the different phases - planning, execution, verification and remedial action - tries to define a system of continuous improvement.
