Simultáneamente, es preciso considerar las limitaciones en las herramientas tradicionales de análisis financiero usadas dentro de las compañías colombianas, principalmente Microsoft Excel®. Con el fin de abordar la problemática anterior, se plantea un complemento en Excel® mediante el lenguaje de programación Visual Basic for Applications, el cual incorpora un modelo automatizado que aborda el registro de los movimientos contables diarios, la elaboración de los estados financieros de una empresa (Estado de Resultados, Estado de Pérdidas y Ganancias, Estado de Flujo de Efectivo, Estado de Cambios al Patrimonio) y su Balance Económico, así como también el cálculo, interpretación y seguimiento de un presupuesto maestro óptimo (operacional y financiero), de indicadores financieros (actividad, liquidez, endeudamiento y rentabilidad) y de inductores de valor con base en las cifras de sus estados financieros. Con tal planteamiento se espera apoyar a las compañías en la toma de decisiones empresariales objetivas con un soporte numérico integral, en avance a las necesidades y falencias actuales de las mipymes en Colombia, y a la comunidad académica de la Universidad EIA en la conceptualización de análisis financiero, mediante la generación automática de informes versátiles.ABSTRACT: A huge part of business failure within the SMEs in the country is explained by deficiencies in financial management and budgeting within organizations nowadays, which limits their growth from the beginning. Simultaneously, it is necessary to consider the limitations of traditional financial analysis tools used within colombian companies, mainly Microsoft Excel®. To address the aforementioned problem, an Excel® add-in is proposed using the Visual Basic for Applications programming language, which incorporates an automated model that addresses the registration of daily accounting transactions, the preparation of a company's financial statements (Income Statement, Profit and Loss Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Statement of Changes in Equity), and its Economic Balance, as well as the calculation, interpretation, and monitoring of an optimal master budget (operational and financial), financial indicators (activity, liquidity, leverage, and profitability), and value drivers based on the figures in their financial statements.
