El proyecto esta definido para un horizonte de largo plazo, contempla el suministro de agua en cantidad suficiente para consumo domestico y para las actividades económicas de la zona. Por no disponer el corregimiento de fuentes de agua con caudales suficientes se tomo la decisión de utilizar la quebrada El Mohan, localizada en jurisdicción del municipio de Abejorral. Esta alternativa presenta dificultades técnicas, presentándose una gran caída para atravesar el río Buey contando allí con un sifón invertido en el que se generan grandes presiones. La conducción tiene una longitud total de 19 Km. para los cuales se tendrán que utilizar en las partes de presión más alta tubería en fibra de vidrio. En las zonas de más alta presión, fue necesaria adicionalmente la instalación de tubería especial de PVC. DESCRIPCION DE LABORES EJECUTADAS DURANTE LA PRACTICA El proyecto se inicio a finales de 1997 con las charlas a la comunidad acerca del proyecto, de cómo se iba a financiar, que dificultades técnicas tenia, y concientizar a la gente para que se apropiara del proyecto y lo sintiera como suyo. Cabe destacar que en un principio fue muy difícil luchar con el escepticismo de los habitantes, pues una gran parte de ellos se atrevía a asegurar que desde tan lejos el agua no llegaría. A principios de 1998 se iniciaron labores instalando tubería especial y excavando brechas. Este trabajo se hacia en conjunto con la comunidad de Damasco y nosotros estabamos encargados del control de aportes de esta. En este punto se inicia nuestro trabajo directo con la comunidad, realizando visitas puerta a puerta a las personas que todavía no habían comenzado con sus aportes. En esta labor tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer a las diferentes personas y de familiarizarnos con el estilo de vida del corregimiento. En un principio, nos dejábamos impresionar fácilmente, ya que estabamos conociendo apenas el "rodaje" de la obra y el manejo de la comunidad, es así, como inicialmente nos dejábamos impactar con las diferentes historias que nos contaban los habitantes para justificar su atraso en el pago de aportes, bien sea en dinero o trabajo. Fue así como iniciamos nuestro trabajo en firme en el proyecto, ya que en los días posteriores, los aportes comenzaron a aumentar y la comunidad se mostraba más motivada. Conocimos más a fondo a las diferentes personas del Corregimiento: al cura, al corregidor, a la telefonista a los comerciantes, etc. En nuestras visitas posteriores, adicionalmente de llevar control estricto de los aportes comunitarios realizábamos recorridos por la obra, aprendiendo así de diversas tuberías especiales y teniendo una visión mayor del proyecto, por lo que estábamos en capacidad de presentar informes a las personas que lo requirieran. Las anteriores visitas generaban una continua retroalimentación entre los trabajadores y nosotros. Esto nos da una gran satisfacción ya que con esa retroalimentación se ve que la comunidad hizo el trabajo bien.ABSTRACT: In the corregimiento of damask of the municipality of Santa Barbara for the inciemencies of the climate and the population's conditions that there inhabits it became necessary to carry out a project that one harbored from the prompt necessities to complete: "THEWATER." It fits to highhght that in a principie it was very difficuit to fight with the skepticism of the inhabitants, because a great part of them dared to assure that from so far the water would not arrive. At the beginning of 1998 works began installing special pipe and digging breaches. This work toward together with the community of Damask and we were taken charge of the control of contributions of this. In this point our direct work begins with the community, carrying out visits door to door to people that had not still begun with its contributions. In this work we had the opportunity to know different peopie and of familiarizing with the lifestyle of the corregimiento. In a principIe, we allowed ourselves to impress easiiy, since we were hardly knowing the fiiming of the work and the handling of the community, it is this way, as initiaily we allowed ourseives to impact with the different histories that the inhabitants counted us to justify their backwardness in the payment of contributions, well be in money or work. It was as well as we begin our work in firm in the project, since in the later days, the contributions began to increase and the community was shown more motivated. We more thoroughly met different people of the Corregimiento: to the priest, to the corregidor, to the operator to the merchants, etc. In our later visits, additionaily of taking strict control of the community contributions we carried out traveled by the work, learning that diverse special pipes and having a vision bigger than the project, for what we were in capacity of introducing reports to people that required it. The previous visits generated a continuous feedback between the workers and us.
