La propuesta es la creación de un centro al cual los pequeños exportadores puedan llevar sus envíos, y éste reúna varios confeccionistas y envíe a Estados Unidos por vía marítima. Así, los costos se reducen notablemente y permite mejorar los márgenes de ganancia, uno de los rubros más afectados en el proceso exportador. Se estimó entonces el volumen total de las empresas exportadoras Antioqueñas, y se determinaron tres posibles volúmenes de penetración de mercado de este servicio, con los cuales se definieron el resto de características del proyecto. Además, se estudió a fondo el proceso logístico de exportación por vía marítima a Estados Unidos, las navieras, transportistas y proceso aduanero, para estimar los costos y la viabilidad del proyecto. Se determinaron también los tamaños, localizaciones, Layouts y condiciones internas de manejo del centro como tal, para cada uno de los tres volúmenes considerados. Además, se estableció toda la plataforma organizacional necesaria para el soporte de este centro, y todos los aspectos legales concernientes al servicio, las relaciones con clientes y con los proveedores. Por último, se construyó un flujo de caja con la conjunción de todas las variables anteriormente mencionadas, determinando así que el volumen es determinante para el establecimiento de este centro. La viabilidad del servicio está dada sólo si la penetración de mercado es superior al 50% de las empresas confeccionistas que exportaron menos de USD 30’000 mensuales a Estados Unidos aproximadamente.Abstract: Small companies from Antioquia, belonging to the textile and apparel sector, which want to export, are forced to do it by an aerial way. It is because their loads and volumes are not big enough to be sent by sea, unless they use an agent who consolidate their load. The proposal of this project consists on creating a center where the small exporters can bring their shipments and consolidating them with other loads, coming from other different small exporters. Once the loads had been consolidated, are sent to the USA by sea way. Thus, the logistics costs are remarkably reduced, allowing the exporters increase their gain margins, being this one the most affected heading in the exporting process. The total volume of companies from Antioquia, that belong to the sector before mentioned, was extracted from an estimated. From the universe of companies obtained, three possible volumes of market penetration for the service where determined. From the sceneries that resulted, the rest of the characteristics for the project where defined. In addition, other topics related studied were: logistics in the exporting process from Colombia to the USA by sea, shipping companies, carriers, the custom processes, costs estimations, and project viability. Were also determined aspects such as: size of the center, center location, layouts, and handling conditions inside the center. The characteristics were all determined for every possible volume of market penetration. Moreover, the organizational platform was also established according the necessities of the center, handling legal aspects concerning to the service, clients and suppliers relationships attendance. Finally, with the conjunction of all the variables previously mentioned, a cash flow was constructed. As a result, the volume of sales was found to be a determining factor on the service success.
