En la actualidad, el turismo a nivel mundial es considerado un motor fundamental del progreso socio-económico, ya que como sector económico ha contribuido al desarrollo de los países gracias al continuo y acelerado crecimiento que ha experimentado durante décadas; además de una intensa diversificación en sus modalidades y destinos, que lo han convertido en una industria compleja debido no sólo a la cantidad de elementos que la componen; sino también a los sectores que incluye en su desarrollo. Se realizó un análisis del sector turismo para identificar y plantear estrategias con el fin de mejorar la competitividad y productividad del país, apalancándose en la megabiodiversidad y patrimonio cultural declarado por la UNESCO para apoyar el crecimiento económico y mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de las comunidades regionales, locales, indígenas y raizales del país. |
