La presente monografía es un estudio exploratorio, dada la limitación de la información sobre el tema. Describe el avance del Sistema Financiero Colombiano, con el propósito de entender su composición e identificar las diferentes variables para su análisis. Este documento presenta datos actualizados, confiables y pertinentes que sirven como base para identificar los factores más relevantes en el crecimiento del Sector Financiero, las innovaciones en algunos de sus productos y el desarrollo de sus instituciones en el país. Los resultados favorables encontrados permitieron comprender el sistema financiero nacional y conocer las posibles alternativas para afrontar las dificultades financieras que se puedan presentar en el actual mercado global que cada vez exige mayor competitividad para incursionar en los mercados internacionales con solidez y sostenibilidad en el tiempo.

This paper is an exploratory, given the limitation of information on the subject. Described the progress of the Colombian financial system, in order to understand their composition and identify the different variables for analysis. This document presents data updated, reliable and relevant to serve as a basis for identifying the most relevant factors in the growth of the Financial Sector, innovations in some of its products and development of its institutions in the country.
