A procedure associated with infrastructures called Explanatory and Predictive Infrastructure Sizing Model is presented, the purpose of which is to carry out the study of infrastructures always following the same methodology. Through its application, a complete analysis of the infrastructure is obtained for its planning, management and assessment in order todetect, among others, certain critical aspects and points for improvement. In this analysis, infrastructure refers to the material base that determines the social structure, development and sustainability. The different existing analysis models are focused on a single type of infrastructure or aspect, for example, theeconomic one, and are not applicable to the study of others. The new model proposed can be used for all infrastructure with a material base, in addition to studying different aspects such as need, cost, performance, development or sustainability. The methodology developed has been divided into three sub-models called explanatory-descriptive, explanatory justifying and predictive-conclusive. The application of the explanatory- descriptive sub-model involves defining, characterizing, prioritizing and quantifying the infrastructure. Thanks to this, themain points to be analyzed are precisely known, thus improving the quality of the results obtained. Subsequently, the explanatory-justifying sub model is applied, where both supply and demand are studied and their current and future relationship is analyzed. Finally, the predictive-conclusive sub-model is applied in order to obtain the necessary information to determine the conclusions associated with each infrastructure studied. For the correct understanding of the Explanatory and Predictive Model, its methodology has been applied to the road network of Navarra, sothat it can be taken as a sample for its use. |

A través de su aplicación se obtiene un análisis completo de la infraestructura para su planificación, gestión y evaluación con el fin de detectar, entre otros, determinados aspectos críticos y puntos de mejora. En este análisis, infraestructura se refiere a la base material que determina la estructura social, el desarrollo y la sostenibilidad. Los diferentes modelos de análisis existentes están centrados en un único tipo de infraestructura o aspecto, por ejemplo, el económico, y no son aplicables al estudio de otros. El nuevo modelo propuesto se puede utilizar para todas las infraestructuras de base material, además de estudiar diferentes aspectos como la necesidad, el coste, el rendimiento, el desarrollo o la sostenibilidad. La metodología desarrollada se ha dividido en tres submodelos denominados explicativo-descriptivo, explicativo-justificador y predictivo-conclusivo. La aplicación del submodelo explicativo-descriptivo implica definir, caracterizar, priorizar y cuantificar la infraestructura. Gracias a ello se conocen con precisión los principales puntos a analizar, mejorando así la calidad de los resultados obtenidos. Posteriormente se aplica el submodelo explicativo-justificador, donde se estudia tanto la oferta como la demanda y se analiza su relación actual y futura.
