Summary: | The implementation of actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals that each nation assumed is a big challenge for each country. At present, many of these have not advanced much in this regard. The case of fishing communities in a nation like Colombia is an example of this, because despite having conditions for the implementation of sustainable fishing, achieving the comprehesive quality of life that SDGs propose is still a distant goal. In that sense, the aim of this project was to identify the challenges around the sustainable development of fishing communities as well as the lessons learned from approaching ther daily lives, taking as a case study, the artisanal fishing communities of the municipality of Tubará, Atlántico - Colombia. Two semi-structured surveys and direct observation were used to identify the characteristics, conditions and challenges of the communities. The results show common aspects within the communities, but also significant differences in their practices and daily life despite being in the same environment. The challenges of these communities are concentrated in 12 of the SDGs from which their situation was analyzed. |
