description Objetivo: Proponer mejoras en las capacidades para la adopción de procesos de innovación en las unidades de producción agropecuaria, con el fin de atender las afectaciones de la emergencia económica, social y ecológica causada por el COVID-19 en el departamento de La Guajira. Método: Epistemológicamente se circunscribe dentro de un paradigma mixto, tipo transeccional-descriptivo. Se utilizó un formulario en forma de encuesta para recopilar los datos, el cual estuvo conformado por cuarenta (40) ítems, con una escala ordinal, aplicado a seiscientos ochenta y tres (683) sujetos, que corresponden a administradores y propietarios de unidades de producción agropecuaria del departamento de La Guajira. Resultados: Las unidades de producción agropecuaria han encontrado dificultades para mantenerse operando, por lo que se deben apoyar iniciativas de transferencia de tecnología con la intervención de diversos actores; así también, se debe complementar el conocimiento que existe en las unidades productivas con nuevas técnicas, herramientas, información y saberes que están fuera de estas unidades, a fin de aprovechar y usar el conocimiento necesario para generar progreso económico, social y ambiental en el departamento. Conclusiones: Tras analizar referentes teóricos clásicos y actuales, y la recopilación de información de los sujetos de estudio, es válido concluir que se deben generar estrategias y espacios que permitan la transferencia permanente de nuevas tecnologías dirigidas a optimizar el aparato productivo de La Guajira, apoyándose en la transformación del saber implícito en explícito, mediante la codificación, captura, conservación y decodificación del conocimiento en las unidades de producción agropecuaria del departamento.

Método: Epistemológicamente se circunscribe dentro de un paradigma mixto, tipo transeccional-descriptivo. Se utilizó un formulario en forma de encuesta para recopilar los datos, el cual estuvo conformado por cuarenta (40) ítems, con una escala ordinal, aplicado a seiscientos ochenta y tres (683) sujetos, que corresponden a administradores y propietarios de unidades de producción agropecuaria del departamento de La Guajira. Resultados: Las unidades de producción agropecuaria han encontrado dificultades para mantenerse operando, por lo que se deben apoyar iniciativas de transferencia de tecnología con la intervención de diversos actores; así también, se debe complementar el conocimiento que existe en las unidades productivas con nuevas técnicas, herramientas, información y saberes que están fuera de estas unidades, a fin de aprovechar y usar el conocimiento necesario para generar progreso económico, social y ambiental en el departamento. Conclusiones: Tras analizar referentes teóricos clásicos y actuales, y la recopilación de información de los sujetos de estudio, es válido concluir que se deben generar estrategias y espacios que permitan la transferencia permanente de nuevas tecnologías dirigidas a optimizar el aparato productivo de La Guajira, apoyándose en la transformación del saber implícito en explícito, mediante la codificación, captura, conservación y decodificación del conocimiento en las unidades de producción agropecuaria del departamento.Objective: To propose improvements in capacities in the adoption of innovation processes in agricultural production units to address the effects of the economic, social and ecological emergency caused by COVID-19 in the Department of La Guajira. Method: Epistemologically it is circumscribed within a mixed paradigm, transitional–descriptive type. For data collection, the form was used as a survey, which consisted of forty (40) items, with an ordinal scale, applied to six hundred and eighty-three (683) subjects, which correspond to administrators and owners of agricultural production units in the department of La Guajira. Results: The agricultural production units have encountered difficulties in maintaining operations, so technology transfer initiatives should be supported with the intervention of various actors; likewise, the knowledge that exists in the productive units must be complemented with new techniques, tools, information, and knowledge that are outside these units, With the purpose to generate economic growth and promoting better social and environmental conditions in the department.
