Summary: | The trends around digital transformation in the space and environment of citizen participatory actions through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are analyzed based on the digital impact in the different scenarios of human interaction. A set of actions involving citizens’ public activities with ICT, which become immediate and mediated applications in time and space, articulating broad communication spectrums between different groups with different or equal political interests. From the systematic review in search engines and specialized databases on the state-of-the-art dimensions considered in the question, how have participatory practices been impacted by using cutting-edge information and communication technologies? Relevant results were obtained. Digital transformation has permeated different human spaces, but in the specific reference to participatory practices, the process has required substantial innovations, epistemic ruptures, and even social communication disruption. Limitations arise due to the scope and diverse coverage in human technological mediations, which concludes the importance of citizen participation in virtual environments mediated through ICT, given the trends of digital impact, but recognizing the access barriers, bases, uses, and activities that are presented to the citizens of the world for economic, social, technological and even political reasons. |
