Summary: | The stilt houses community of Nueva Venezia, (Magdalena, Colombia) presents a series of problems that have jeopardized the quality of the habitat and the environment in which this territory is erected. Problems that are related to environmental aspects, housing, collective equipment and access to basic services that guarantee a completely suitable environment for its inhabitants. Such a situation extends throughout the large Cienega de Santa Marta, where this community is located. A territory with a historical burden full of social, spatial, sanitary, cultural, economic and war events, related to the economic dynamics, the situation of poverty, the processes of growth of the territory, the presence Institutional and armed conflict in Colombia. This research work aims to delve into the cosmogony of the territory of new Venice, to know the causes that generated environmental and housing deterioration and understand all the sociocultural dynamics that give identity to this place. In addition, it is intended to generate urban/architectural proposals as a categorical answer to situations that accentuate the conditions of marginality, poverty and deficit, such as the absence of sanitary infrastructure and drinking water, pollution Progressive of the swamp by dumping of waste, lack of recreational areas and leisure (public space and equipment), misuse of structural systems, among other aspects, that endanger the preservation of a unique community around the country, with an incalculable potential of development, in an environment that once lived in the antipode between the poetics of a paradise in the midst of a nature reserve of mangroves and the misfortune generated by the war in Colombia. The project is part of the concepts of urban regeneration, sustainable design and social ecology, through proposal that aims to draw a possible scenario to improve the quality of habitat and environment in the community of Nueva Venecia |
