Summary:In the new challenges of education, the teacher in a reflection of his pedagogical practice must think of actions or didactic alternatives aimed at favoring the development of the critical thinking of his students. This project aim to propose collaborative work as a didactic strategy against the development of critical thinking in fifth grade students. According to a qualitative epistemological approach, with a non-experimental field design, descriptive transectional being used as techniques for collection of information, the interview, which was applied to students and fifth grade teachers of the Educational Institution Francisco José de Caldas de Soledad Atlántico.The results obtained from this research aimed to describe how collaborative work as a didactic strategy favors the development of critical thinking in students
