Description
Summary:The generic competences are parameters established by the Ministry of Education to measure the quality of the graduates of the different Universities; Within these competences, written communication is included, which is a transverse skill that is not strengthened in university students. One of the problems, its study is limited to the academic field, so we consider it important to give a holistic view to the construction of text, and in this case from neuropsychology. Therefore, the present investigation has as objective to determine the relationship between executive functions, verbal fluency and the performance in written communication of the 10th semester students of the Universidad de la Costa; for the above, a theoretical review of the executive functions, Verbal fluency and the performance in Written Communication in the Saber Pro tests is carried out. Each selected variable is characterized, to finally establish a relationship between them. The sample consisted of 134 students from the different academic programs of the institution that applied the standardized test in the period 2017-II. The investigation takes as a methodological basis the empirical -analytical paradigm, being of a quantitative nature, and its level of reach is correlational, of a non-experimental, transversal type. The Pearson coefficient was used, through which a positive correlation was obtained between the variables of phonological fluency, verbal fluidity and written communication; Likewise, a linear regression was performed, in which no incidence was observed among the variables. KeyWords: executive functions, verbal fluency, written skills, Saber Pro test
