Summary:This work focuses on the implementation of collaborative work to improve the reading process of eighth grade students in the secondary school of the Institución San Antonio del Cerro de San Antonio (Magdalena). The purpose of this proposal is to identify the effect of collaborative work on reading comprehension in order to develop such skills in students. This research has an empirical-analytical paradigm, of quasi-experimental design of quantitative approach and for the implementation, a sample of 44 students is taken. According to the evaluation, students significantly improved access to collaborative work processes and strategies, demonstrating an improvement in reading comprehension, evidencing the effectiveness of the strategy.
