Description
Summary:The Kanban method is a production system Pull whose Japanese meaning is closely related to the word card or visible record, this sums up all the information necessary to carry out the production process of generating the production orders and material transport at the time is required and using only the necessary resources in order to reduce waste, to balance workload and increase productivity and company performance. Additionally process simulation evaluates low economic risk and shorter time spans the usefulness of Kanban concepts. This study aims to design a model simulation by Rockwell Arena® software to evaluate the implementation of the Kanban methodology on a production system for single doors on request. The methodology initially described the process of manufacture of Simple Doors, then calculates the number of replicates needed to statistically validate current models Kanban simulation and finally the parameters and variables of the system are synthesized and simulation models are built above mentioned. Given the significance established for experimentation results show as the current production system does not meet the production targets of the company, maintaining high levels of WIP, bottlenecks and in breach of the target for the level of service; while using the Kanban methodology is able to improve the indicators mentioned adjusting to the goals set by the company.
