Description
Summary:The objective of this research was to determine the incidence of the use of digital videos and audios as multimedia tools in the development of reading and writing skills in the first degree of the Oriental Diversified Educational Institution of the municipality of Santo Tomás, headquarters No. 5 El Carmen School. The sample was non-probabilistic, corresponding to 85 first grade students of primary school. The methodology used corresponds to a quantitative approach, with an explanatory scope, a quasi-experimental design and under a positivist paradigm. For the collection of the information, two techniques were used: the survey and the test, where the family's reading preferences, the use of technological tools in their daily work and the initial and final state of the systematized reading and writing skills were analyzed with instruments of Excel spreadsheets, the SPSS package. The results obtained under the parameters of the descriptive statistics, T Student is used to estimate the average of a group when the sample of the population is small and determine between two sample variances the differences existing in the two courses involved in the work, and thus demonstrate statistically and quantitatively that there was significant progress in the development of reading and writing skills.
