Description
Summary:The purpose of this investigation is to analyze if a significant relation exists between the Styles and the Learning strategies with the academic performance in Natural Sciences. Bearing in mind, that when one speaks about styles of learning refers to since the brain processes and perceives the information; likewise, the learning strategies depend on the elements, contents and way of solving events relating to his own capacities. As for the academic performance, it decides not only for the capacities and skills, but for processes and procedures orientated by the institution and developed by the students according to his skills. The paradigm of study is Positivist, with quantitative approach, design of not experimental investigation, transeccional and correlacional. The studied sample they are 70 students from 11 ° period 2016. The technologies and instruments for the compilation of information are: the application of Felder's inventory (Brief Version, 2004), to determine the Styles of Learning; the instrument ACRA (abridged, 2003), to diagnose the learning strategies; of equal form, the historical one of academic performance in Natural Sciences. In the results they found six styles of learning, being the preferential one of the sample, the Active style with 31,4 %, followed the Visual style with 28,6 %; on the other hand, in the learning strategies 57.1 % of the students uses the strategy of Acquisition and with 21,4 % the strategy of Recovery; meeting a correlation between the mentioned variables and the academic performance in the area of Natural Sciences.
