This approach aims to provide supporting evidence to guide inquiry, related both theoretically and politically.El artículo surge por la inquietud en el tema de investigación de “La maestría de desarrollo sostenible y medio ambiente” por la búsqueda de la incidencias en la trama urbana–metropolitana, en la crítica del encuentro de conceptos de desarrollo económico y sostenible, la cual permite reflexionar y abordar términos sensibles, en lo relacionado al contexto regional, global, metropolitano con visión de lo prospectivo, económico, social, urbano y, sobre todo, ambiental. Pensar y considerar, que caracteriza ¿la relación que determine una región?, ¿red global? o qué, ¿la ciudad se desarrolle como área metropolitana?, o que, ¿qué impactos se han generado producto del crecimiento y ordenamiento de la Metrópoli? Este último en el Distrito de Barranquilla.
