Summary: | This degree project is carried out with the purpose of identifying opportunities for improvement based on the Lean philosophy that allow reducing the main waste present in the production line of the company Espumas Santafé de Bogotá. Initially, visits were made to the production plant in order to learn about its production processes. After the product that would be the object of study was selected, the identification of waste that exposes the Lean philosophy was carried out. Subsequently, a causality analysis was carried out to determine the factors that influence the generation of said waste. After this, improvement proposals were developed based on Lean tools, focused on reducing the waste identified in critical workstations to contribute to the reduction of response times. Using a simulation model, the feasibility of the proposed improvements was evaluated, where different scenarios were proposed to corroborate that the proposals were functional and sustainable over time. Additionally, a financial analysis was carried out in order to evaluate the feasibility of the improvements, taking into account the initial investment by the company in each proposed scenario, and the utility that it would have after the implementation of said proposals. Finally, it was evidenced that the proposed improvements made it possible to standardize the working methods of the workstations studied, which resulted in the optimization of processes. By implementing operators who perform the work of skaters, productivity would increase by at least 20%. With the Kanban, Heijunka and Kaizen tools it is intended to maintain the results stated in this work (Hernández & Vizán, 2013). |
