Description
Summary:Currently, actions aimed at energy improvement allow for the resolution of practices in the use of energy within educational buildings. This is achieved through the implementation of new models and automated designs, presenting opportunities and challenges with the integration of new technologies in the country’s buildings. It is noteworthy that university campuses can behave like small-scale cities, as the buildings and blocks have different energy uses, responding to the academic, administrative, cultural, and sports activities carried out within educational institutions. In some cases, electrical energy is wasted, and its conservation is not considered. Automation offers a wide range of technologies that reduce human intervention in processes. Therefore, this research is developed using the case study of analyzing the possibilities of automating classrooms in a building at the Universidad de la Costa. The need to automate is considered to reduce energy losses caused by inefficient use of installed systems and equipment, thereby reducing energy consumption for air conditioning and lighting, whether due to unnecessary use or other factors affecting their proper use. Additionally, it aims to create a pleasant and technological environment that benefits the student body
