Summary: | In the work, a critical analysis of the different expressions of calculation is carried out to determine the value of the maximum stresses in the welded joints of Complex Geometric Configuration subjected to torsion, highlighting that for the These same expressions of calculation present omissions and contradictions with the Mechanics of Materials because this type of profile where the length-thickness relationship is greater than 10 should be considered as a contour of thin walls. For this reason the Thin Wall Profiles Theory is applied in order to obtain new expressions of calculation which provide values of the local maximum tensions closest to those obtained by the Elements Method. Finites The case of the recessed joint where the effect of restricted torsion appears is appreciated as in the points closest to the embedment the values of the tensions are 1.4 times higher than those obtained for this same union subjected to free torsion due to the different aspects present in this request which are explained in the work. These values of the tensions are also compared with those obtained by the Finite Element Method showing a good correspondence between them. |
