Summary:The objective of this research is to describe the influence of the EpC methodological approach (teaching for comprehension) in the development of the competences of text production and reading comprehension of the 3rd grade students, for this a sample made up of 21 students is used. belonging to group 3 ° A of the Colegio Maria Auxiliadora Norte de Barranquilla; It is based on theories of different authors such as Perkins, Blythe, Stone and Ausubel, and it is also framed under a mixed type approach (Quanti-qualitative), a Descriptive-Explanatory scope, directed under a paradigm (Positivist-interpretative); and a Quasi-Experimental design that incorporates the administration of pre-tests to the groups that make up the experiment; then only one group receives the experimental treatment and finally a post-test is administered. For data collection, different techniques and instruments are used, specifically direct observation, the survey and the test, which allows establishing the results obtained and the recommendations given from the entire research process carried out.
