Description
Summary:The aim of the research was to analyze the knowledge management in the research departments of the Higher Education Institutions of Barranquilla. The methodology used was framed in the quantitative approach, descriptive scope and non-experimental crosssectional design, the sample was non-probabilistic sampling for convenience. We took the survey as a technique for data collection, through a questionnaire with Likert and ordinal scales applied to the directors and vice-rectors of research in the research departments. To analyze the collected empirical evidence, we used descriptive statistical tools such as central tendency and dispersion measures such as fashion, median, mean and standard deviation. The results allowed evidencing the presence of the knowledge management phases, however, there are weaknesses to absorb the researchers' individual learning that is important for the creation of knowledge at a group level; therefore, it is concluded that within the context of the institutions studied, there are no technological tools that document the researchers' tacit knowledge. Finally, it recommends knowledge management strategies that relate the substantive functions of research, teaching and extension.
