Summary: | Geometric thinking constitutes a fundamental process for the integral development of the individual because, among other things, it allows the establishment of adequate spatial relationships with the environment, as well as a tationality that promotes the interaction of the subject with the surrounding world and their better performance in the eveeryday life; however, its teaching has been a source of great concern for decades as the design of specific teaching strategies seems to be an aspect that must be improved in the teaching reality. Hence, this research sought to strengthen, trough cooperative work, didactic strategies for the development of geometric thinking at the basic primary level; supported by the qualitetive approach, specifically in the socio-critical paradigm through the action research method, information was collected from five teachers of the Departmental Educational Institution Humberto Velasquez Garcia (Magdalena, Colombia), trough content analysis, semi-interviews structured and discussion groups. This process made it posible to build a diagnosis that receals the need, among others, to implement procedures adjusted to cooperative work for the teaching of geometry and, particularly, for th development of geometric thinking. The design, implementation and evaluation of the generated action plan revealed that the design of contextualized didactic strategies promote the development of geometric thinking at the basic primary level. |
