Description
Summary:Venezuela has been considered for many years of its history a country receiving migrants or open doors to the world, at present, it presents a completely different migratory pattern, since there have been considerable emigrations, especially of young and qualified population. Under these considerations, this article analyzes the motivations of the migratory diaspora of Venezuelan university students. The methodology used was descriptive, with a field research design; using a semi-structured questionnaire with 25 items, applied to a sample of 423 students of the University of Zulia - Venezuela, house of public studies, with a significant number of student enrollment nationwide. The results show that 85.7% of the student population intends to migrate, due to problems such as food, personal fulfillment, insecurity, shortage of medicines, low wages, corruption, among other problems. It is concluded, that it is facing a latent process of migration of university students without precedents, which has an impact on the development of the nation, given the loss of young and training staff; situation that deserves the serious attention of the State through policies that delineate routes of action to address this demographic process.
