| Summary: | The aim of this study is to describe the role of new technologies in the social support perceived as convivial alternative college students. The methodology was based on a non experimental quantitative research descriptive-cross type. It was used as an instrument of data collection questionnaire consists of three dimensions related to the study variables, supported by the MOS social support questionnaire. The study was conducted on a sample of 150 students from the faculties of Engineering and Psychology at the University of the Coast. According to this research, we survey evidence that mobile media take increasing relevance in the daily lives of college students. At the same time, these results show the need to present the University for emotional and informational social support not only in person but also via mobile devices through its applications being most preferred Facebook, WhatsApp and text messages. |
