Summary:This research was carried out at the Centro Pedagógico la Inmaculada in the Municipality of Malambo Atlántico and its purpose was to design a methodological proposal to develop logical mathematical thinking in first grade students of the Primary School in the aforementioned institution. For this, it was based on the theory of This research took as reference the qualitative paradigm and as a method it was supported in the interpretative hermeneutic with the objective of giving critical analysis to the research process. It worked with a population of 2 teachers and 49 students. The techniques and instruments of information collection used in the research process were: observation card, semi-structured survey to teachers, survey to students, and interview to teachers. It consisted of 4 stages, in the first one the characterization of the methodological strategies that the teachers used in their mathematics classes was made, in the second one the methodological strategies that they used were examined, in the third one the methodological strategies used by them were interpreted and finally the methodological proposal was designed to contribute to the development of the logical mathematical thought in the students of First Grade of Primary School. This research obtained as a result that teachers use little recreational material in their math classes and therefore it was reflected that they are based on the traditional method during their pedagogic event. For this reason, the proposal was designed to give teachers new recreational tools to work in the classroom and thus enrich the teaching and learning methodologies in the area of mathematics.
