Description
Summary:The present research work was carried out with the aim of promoting the resolution of mathematical problems by developing thinking skills through the implementation of the Heuristic method in the 3rd grade of primary school students of the Bolivarian World Institution. From there, a process tends to determine the incidence of independent variables: the heuristic method and thinking skills on the dependent variable: problem solving. This research was developed from a positivist paradigm, with a quantitative method for the analysis of information, of explanatory scope and with a quasi-experimental design. This project was carried out with a sample of 67 students from the third grade, made up of two groups: an experimental group, which was called group A, with 33 students and one control, called group B, with 34 students. In addition, the test technique was used by implementing a questionnaire as an instrument, which was applied in two stages: a pretest and a posttest. Once the pretest was applied, the intervention activities in group A were carried out, based on the heuristic method. Allowing to enhance the resolution of mathematical problems, in contrast to the results of the control group. This confirms the hypothesis and is evident in the results of this investigation. The relevance of this project has to be taken as a model for future research in the different local, national and international educational institutions.
