Description
Summary:The abandonment of the educational system by students deepens the circles of poverty in the regions, especially the rural ones. Hence the relevance of studying this phenomenon and making proposals that attack its causes in the different contexts in which students operate. The objective of this work is to design pedagogical and educational management strategies associated with the life project that prevent school dropout in the students of the rural educational institutions Villa Nelly in the municipality of Carepa Antioquia and Suse in Aquitania Boyacá. The methodology is based on a qualitative paradigm, hermeneutic design and projective and prospective type of research. The data collection techniques used are the semi-structured interview with students and teachers, a focus group with parents and teachers, and document analysis sheets. It is found that school dropout has risk and protective factors in the family, educational institution and sociocultural environment, related to the life project, child labor, family support, teenage pregnancy and poor academic performance. A management route is proposed to implement the life project as a strategy to reduce school dropout that involves the directors of the educational institution, teachers, parents and students. Said management route is validated with coordinators, psycho-counselors and teachers. It is concluded that the proposed management route can contribute to changing the vision and attitude towards life and education of the students, in a way that contributes to the reduction of school desertion.
